New Year’s Day on Liathach

1st January 2014

Happy New Year to All from SAIS in Torridon!
A great start to 2014 this morning driving through Glen Torridon. Clear blue skies and cooler temperatures after some overnight rain.

Below, looking into the Eastern section of Stob a Choire Liath Mhor. Poacher’s Fall prominent right.

….and the Western side,

View northwards from near the profile site to Sail Mhor on Beinn Eighe

Looking West to Beinn Alligin as we head back down Coire Dubh Mor to the road by the Ling hut.

Finally, a special thanks to a few people….
Firstly, Ros and crew at the Torridon Coffee Shop and Store for their hospitality on Hogmonay. Great welcome, live music and bar…. Good coffee and cakes during the day with a great wood burning stove roaring away.
Also to Sarah at the SNH field station at Kinlochewe where we have accommodation and office facilities. Thanks.
