Milder temperatures

Milder temperatures but still feeling cold on the hill with the windchill. The snow has depleted at lower levels but there is still good cover above 450 metres or so. The snow pack has turned wet and later this afternoon when the freezing level rises to above the summits we can expect some further wet snow instabilities and very fragile cornices. Avalanches are likely this evening and overnight, hopefully triggered naturally! We can expect things to settle down a bit later tomorrow. If you do happen to see any avalanches or avalanche debris, please take the time to report them. On the home page of our web site, you can hover over “Report an Avalanche ” and click, the process is self explanatory and just complete the form as best you can. Sometimes one only sees them from a distance, so simply complete the questions with your best information as you are able to, and we will do the rest. It’s really much appreciated!
