A Damp Cloudy Day

Today was a day of constant light rain and cloud with a moderate South-Westerly wind, making it feel quite damp on the hill! There were very few views as the cloud base remained stubbornly around 500m for most of the day. The freezing level was above the summits and any remaining snow patches are continuing to thaw. Most areas are bare ground with snow patches mainly confined to coire rims and gullies on North to East aspects. Tomorrow is a similar day with stronger winds, the freezing level will be lower than today and it is possible precipitation will turn to snow on the highest summits however any amounts will be very small. It is due to turn colder on Monday with the possibility of some snow showers, remaining colder on Tuesday.
Looking up Sgurr Dubh (782m) on the South side of Glen Torridon with a single snow patch remaining on the North-East aspect.
Looking at the North-East aspects of Sgurr nan Lochan Uaine (871m), again only small patches of snow remaining. Taken from the Coire an Leth-uillt approach to Sgurr Dubh.
Looking across Loch Clair to the south facing slopes of Beinn Eighe, this is about as much of Beinn Eighe as was visible all day.
As good as views got today. Looking down on Loch Clair on the descent.
