Winter solstice

21st December 2021

While I love winter, I don’t like the lack of daylight at this time of year. The North pole is inclined at it’s furthest from the sun at 15:59 this afternoon and after that the sun will get slightly higher in the sky each day and the days will get gradually longer (for those of us in the Northern hemisphere).

Another dry day with light winds and very little remaining snow. Photos today show the Southern side of the Torridon mountains which are even less snowy than the Northern side.

Beinn Eighe from the East this morning.
