After rain in the early morning there was a dry spell till early afternoon. Southerly winds were less strong than expected. The snow was gradually thawing at all levels. The snow was patchy and soft at lower elevations, cover becoming more widespread above 600 metres and becoming gradually firmer above 750 metres. Another warm day tomorrow although dry for most of the day.
Looking down on Stuc Coire an Laoigh, Beinn Eighe at 866m metres, with good snow cover on most aspects. Sgurr Dubh the first peak on the other side of the road at 782 metres has less snow.
Looking to Coineach Mhor, Beinn Eighe with Liathach behind. By the time I got higher to look at snow conditions on the North side the cloud had come down.
Looking to Sgurr nan Fhir Duibhe, Beinn Eighe, still some snow on the North facing crags (although wet and thawing). Diminishing snow cover seen on the South facing slopes in the foreground.
