A beautiful, but very cold day in Torridon. Temperatures were off the scale today; -18C at Aultguish on the A835 driving to Torridon this morning and -18.5C snow surface temperature at 970m, NW aspect on Beinn Eighe summit ridge. Due to the very cold temperatures, weaknesses have developed in the snowpack in specific locations and moderately bonded windslab persists in other locations. Check out the avalanche forecast page on our website for details; https://www.sais.gov.uk/
Thanks to my assistant, Calum for the photos.
