Another fine day with light Southerly winds after early morning mist cleared, with great views against blue skies. The snow exposed to the sun gradually softened on the surface to give good walking conditions. However, early morning and snow in the shade was firm and crampons were required. Although there is little snow low down, it is still very wintery on the tops.
Snowless below 600m generally gave good walking low down.
A pleasure to be able to stop and spy. Evidence of many wet snow avalanches from last weekend.
