Mild, Wet and Windy

30th January 2020

Persistent heavy rain at all levels, a strong and gusty South-West wind and hill fog made for quite an unpleasant day on the hill. The wet snowpack is much diminished, particularly at lower elevations.

Depleted snowpack on the lower slopes of Creag Dhubh, Beinn Eighe.

Burns in spate running out of Leathad Buidhe, the small coire below and NE of the summit of Creag Dhubh.

Some roller-ball activity noted. From last night as the mild and wet weather arrived.

Looking through the rain haze down to Kinlochewe.

Some deeper areas of soft wet snow remain on the North-East aspect of the east ridge of Creag Dhubh.
