A Dusting of Snow
28th March 2018
Some fresh overnight snow down to 350m disappeared quickly as it warmed up through the day. A dry and bright day, but cloudy, the cloud base around 750m, lower on the coastal mountains and clearer inland. Little change in the snowpack, which is generally firm and stable throughout.
A dusting of fresh snow on Liathach first thing this morning.
Torridon village and Liathach early afternoon.
Beinn Alligin.
Beinn Bhan through the cloud looking across Loch Damh.
The classic ‘kettle’ shaped coire of Toll Ban (White Hole), Beinn Damh – the location for today’s snow profile on the coire rim.
A quick panorama as the clouds parted momentarily. Looking North-West along the Beinn Damh ridge to Sheidaig and Loch Torridon on the left and Beinn Alligin, Liathach and Torridon village on the right.
