Grey but Good Visibility

13th January 2018

A tad milder today with a slow thaw at lower elevations, yet remaining wintery looking at summit level. The good weather has finally broken down with fronts edging into the West.

The last of the sun for a while? Sunrise this morning over a partly frozen over Loch Clair and the Coulin hills, south Torridon.

Angry behind Liathach. A stalled front sat out in the Minches today, clipping the west coast, but it remained largely dry in Torridon.

Coire an Laoigh, Beinn Eighe – the location for todays snowpack observations. ‘Black’ rock and thinning snowpack are indications of milder conditions and thaw. Spot the walkers….there is a group of 4.

Thickening cloud over the south Torridon hills.
