Snow showers

Snow showers through the day today, heaviest in the afternoon. The existing snow cover has a breakable crust from a temperature rise last night.  Further snow is forecast overnight Friday and through Saturday with storm Dave bringing storm force winds Saturday evening into Sunday. Definitely winter conditons in the hills just now as shown by the photos below.

The summit ridge of Spidean Coire nan Clach, Beinn Eighe in full winter condition with the snow surface having a breakable crust and verglas on the rocks.

 

Looking across the top of Coire an Laoigh to Stuc Coire an Laoigh. Spindrift is visible across the top of the coire although new snow deposits were small at this time (early afternoon).
