Breaks in the Cloud on Creag Dubh

Mild conditions and drizzle this morning with most peaks in the cloud. Cloud started to break up late morning giving some brief views from the summit of Creag Dubh. The remaining snow cover is thawing in the milder contains with largest areas remaining in gullies and around coire rims on Easterly aspects.

Thaw conditions are forecast to continue overnight Tuesday with a change to a colder northerly airflow and snow showers during the morning on Wednesday. A brief dry spell is forecast for Thursday morning before rain at most levels arrives Thursday afternoon, turning back to snow above 600 metres into Friday as changeable conditions continue.

The ridge leading to the summit of Creag Dubh before the cloud lifted. Many ridges will be like this with snow on the more Easterly aspects and Westerly aspects nearly snow free.

Fionn Bheinn with the South facing aspects nearly snow free. A brief glimpse of the Fannichs showed significantly more snow than on Fionn Bheinn.
