Rainbow

15th February 2026

Showers with clear spells this morning easing through the day, with a beautiful chance rainbow over Slioch early on. Visibility generally improved but the summits remained mainly cloud covered.

Last nights snow fell to around 400 metres and up to around 850 metres was quite wet. The existing snowpack remaining generally set up and firm. At higher elevations windslab was present on Northerly aspects, mainly on ridge flanks, and coire rims.

More snow showers tonight and through the day will persist the hazard on Northerly aspects but will a significant change in wind direction from the start of the day, new accumulations of windslab are expected to form on Easterly and Southerly aspects.

A double rainbow over looking Slioch, not so much sunshine and showers, as brighter spells with limited patches of clear blue sky.
