Brighter spells

1st February 2026

This morning there was a brief spell of unexpected rain in Achnasheen and the surrounding hills. This soon cleared away but the summits were shrouded in cloud for most of the day. There were a few brighter spells when the summits appeared, allowing for the photos below. You had to be quick with the camera, as they didn’t stay visible for long. Visibility was better over the coastal ranges than inland.

There is little change in the snow stability and snow cover from yesterday and no significant change is expected for tomorrow.
