Beinn Eighe and Liathach

27th February 2026

Todays observations were from Coire Mhic Fhearchair on the North side of Beinn Eighe. Clear weather gave a chance to have a good look around at the remaining snow. Photos show different views of both Beinn Eighe and Liathach.

While some hills in the area have more patchy snow cover significant areas of snow remain as shown in the photos below. All snow will be very firm on Saturday with the colder temperatures refreezing the wet snowpack after the recent thaw.

Triple Buttress, Coire Mhic Fhearchair, Beinn Eighe

Morrisons Gully, Sail Mhor, Beinn Eighe

Coire an Laoigh, Spidean Coire nan Clach, Beinn Eighe

Creag Dhubh on the right, the Black Carls leading to Sgurr nan Fhir Duibhe behind on the left, Beinn Eighe

Spidean a’ Choire Leith, Liathach. The snowy ridge is part of the main route onto or off Liathach and will be very firm in the colder temperatures. (As will all remaining snow)

Coire Cam, below Mullach am Rathian on the North side of Liathach

Coire na Caime and Meall Dearg, North side of Liathach

The south side of Glen Torridon. Sgorr nan Lochan Uaine on the left, Beinn Liath Mhor centre and Sgorr Ruadh back right.

Beinn Alligin on the left and Beinn Dearg on the right. These 2 peaks have less snow than most hills in the Torridon area.
