Afternoon snow showers

It was a cold, dry, sunny morning with snow showers in the afternoon. Most of the snowpack is frozen and very firm. Isolated and shallow areas of moderately bonded windslab are present in sheltered locations.

Snow showers are forecast to continue this evening followed by a dry day on Saturday. Heavier snow then forecast for Saturday night with strong Southerly winds.

Suitable footwear for the very firm snow.

Sgurr nan Fhir Duibhe and the Black Carls.

 

The Western Beinn Eighe tops. Coinneach Mhór with Sail Mhór behind and Ruadh-stac Mór.

 

Slioch

 

Beinn Alligin looking less white than the other mountains in the area.

 

Snow to low levels in afternoon showers.
