Beinn Eighe
19th January 2026
Todays observations were from Spidean Coire nan Clach, Beinn Eighe. Approaching through Coire an Laoigh, there was patchy snow cover from around 400m with more significant cover from around 550 metres. Snow was firm at most elevations becoming a little softer later in the day. Some localised pockets of moderately bonded windslab remained at the highest elevations on the North side of the ridge, however these were consolidating during the day, as the freezing level rose close to the higher summits in the area.
After a little drizzle first thing, Tuesday should be a mainly dry day with fresh South-Easterly winds and the freezing level around the highest summits. Much stronger winds forecast for Wednesday afternoon and Thursday.
