A New Year Coat!

1st January 2026

The New Year has started with a dusting of new snow in the mountains, the beginnings of a wintry scene but also a  very cold and dramatic Arctic weather system providing storm force winds and blizzards at high elevations in the vicious squalls.

The damp ground of the last days has begun to refreeze and screes and paths especially above 700m or so were noticeably covered in verglas and firm with a dusting of snow!

But its good to see the snows arrival and Winter.
