Winter Solstice

It’s always a bonus in the North-West when we get a dry, clear and bright day. Particularly so, as today marked the winter solstice – the shortest day and longest night of the year.
A small amount of snow still remains in the Torridon forecast area mainly confined to North and East facing corrie rims and steep slopes on the same aspects above around 900m. This snow is well consolidated and will remain firm in steep shady locations presenting a slip hazard for the ill equipped.
