Minimal fresh snow

23rd March 2025

There was low cloud in the Torridon area this morning so no views of the mountains from the glen. I headed up onto Spidean Coire nan Clach to see what new snow had arrived last night. The answer was very little with most ground bare even at summit level.

Some photos of the fresh and older snow below.

The trig point (972m) on Spidean Coire nan Clach. A tiny bit of rime and wet snow on the windward side.

The deepest drift of fresh snow that I found – 3cm! Most ground was still bare.

Dirty old snow in Coire an Laoigh.
