Hasta la vista Nieve
4th March 2025
Considering the quite dramatic change, forecast overnight and through tomorrow, I thought I’d use a dramatic title for this post. If Arne was a forecaster eh !!! It would be interesting to see how he phrased things. See you later snow indeed!
So to the forecast. We are expecting very heavy rain overnight tonight, plus 4 degrees on the summits, and Gale force winds, and it will continue to be wet and mild throughout Wednesday. By the end of the day tomorrow I am expecting very little, if any snow, left in the Torridon forecast area. Perhaps there will be some small lingering patches in the Fannichs.
The challenge tomorrow will be trying to see if anything has survived, as going high is likely to be off the cards again, and visibility will be poor. We will try though.
Looking across to the South aspect of Liathach across Loch Torridon. No snow here !
Beinn Alligin across Loch Torridon.
A brief clearing along the South flanks of Liathach.
The Coire Dubh Mor path.
Coinneach Mhor, Beinn Eighe.
A brief glimpse of Ruadh-stac Beag, Beinn Eighe. This had a fair amount more snow on it two days ago.
The Allt Coire Roill. I expect this will be far more dramatic tomorrow!
