Wintry Showers

19th December 2024

It was a day of blustery wintry showers, with the more obvious snowline at around 500m. in the Fannaich mountains. Some of the showers were heavy and prolonged but they eased a bit through the afternoon.

Although in general there is a light covering of new snow throughout, there are small areas of windslab accumulating in wind sheltered locations at higher elevations. Most wind exposed terrain is scoured due to the very strong NW airflow.
