Rain and Hill Fog
9th April 2024
No views this morning. Slow moving and persistent rain across the Fannaichs became increasingly wintry on the highest tops. The mirk began to clear through the afternoon.
Apart from a dusting of new snow on the higher tops, the existing snow cover is much depleted and stable, with most snow lingering in patches, strips and slivers mostly inland above 800m. The near coastal mountains and tops are largely snow free.
(Above 2 Photos) Looking into the northern Fannaichs. Cloud bases were around 450m. during the heavier bursts of rain.
(Above) Meall an t-Sithe (601m.) on the right and the main tops obscured by rain and hill fog.
