Storm Gerrit

27th December 2023

Storm Gerrit arrived with very strong winds and heavy rain in the glens which dramatically turned to snow at around 300 metres altitude and deep soft snow above 500 metres. Visibility was poor so we could not see the high tops. Nonetheless there is significant snow cover and it will be good to see the mountains once it clears.

Heading toward Meall a Ghiuthais with the lower cliffs beyond from Loch Maree.

Snow cover near Loch Allt an Daraich

Deep drift in places at 500m altitude
