Bleak
20th February 2022
After the wonderful blue skies of Saturday it wasn’t so great today. The freezing level during the night had risen above the summits and areas of black were visible at the highest levels when visibility was ok.
Below; East face of Creag Dhubh at the East end of Beinn Eighe. Avalanche debris visible from top left to bottom right. Likely occurred during the early hours of Sunday morning.
Below, Liathach. A big difference from yesterday after the overnight thaw.
Below, By the middle of the day the freezing level had dropped significantly and showers turned more wintry accompanied by large hailstones.

Think I may have passed you around 1.00pm today on the Nature Trail path, you were descending and I was going up?
I think the work you do is fantastic.
All the best

Thanks James. Don’t think it was me on the Mountain Trail, but had a good day nonetheless, despite the poor summit views. Trust you had the same. Cheers.
