A wintry day with scattered snow showers including hail. We have had moderate deposits of new snow plus more snow forecast. There has been significant transportation of the snow in the strong winds. Windslab instabilities are gaining depth and extent. These accumulations are on North through East to South aspects and of concern above 750-800 metres.  The older snow pack is firm with an icy crust especially on wind exposed aspect.
