A Dull Winter Solstice

21st December 2018

A day of light winds and drizzly showers, Still very little snow to be seen. Continuing relatively mild for the time of year and layers of fog shrouding the hills today. A dusting of fresh snow was glimpsed on the higher tops, but thawed again through the day. But look on the bright side – the days are getting longer!

The classic view of Creag Dhubh, Beinn Eighe first thing this morning. A dusting of fresh snow.

Liathach and Glen Torridon from the slopes of Sgurr Dubh on the south side of the glen.

Mist layers on Beinn Eighe and Liathach.

The classic glaciated U shaped glen of Coire Mhic Nobuil dividing Liathach on the left and Beinn Eighe on the right.
