Clear and Sunny

21st January 2017

Much colder today and a high winchill, despite a warming sun. Another great day for a mountain walk – or sitting outside in the sun at the Torridon café! Cloudier tomorrow, with a slim chance of a dusting of snow on the highest summits at the end of the day.

Sunrise on Liathach and Coire an Laoigh, Beinn Eighe. Spot the snow!

Looking east from Toll a’ Meitheach on the south side of Liathach and the summit of Stuc a’ Choire Dhuibh Bhig (915m)

Toll a’ Meitheach, Liathach and Pyramid Buttress on the left. A bit of snow remains in the gullies and in the upper coire. The black water streaks should be solid ice at this time of year!

A winter mountaineer ‘on the edge’!
