Groundhog Day
4th January 2016
The highlight of the day was watching a Golden Eagle twisting its way across the crags into a headwind and just above me. Otherwise, same old, same old. Low cloud in the eastern mountains, higher cloud base to the west. Patchy firm snow. Little change forecast.
Across Loch a Bhraoin to the munros of Sgurr Dubh (918m)Â and Mullach Coire Mhic Fearchair (1019m)Â – just NE of Slioch.
The ‘snowy’ western munros of the Fannichs – Sgurr Breac (the Emergency Hill – 999m) and A’ Chailleach (997m).
Large patches of snow on the North and North-East aspect of Meall a’ Chrasgaidh (934m)
