Wintry

5th January 2022

Poor visibility first thing but some clearer periods later. We have much improved snow cover above 400 metres with better cover above 600 metres with lots of trail breaking. There are new snow instabilities with some wind slab forming on wind sheltered aspects.

Liathach this morning.

View down towards Loch Clair

Always nice to meet smiling faces on the hill! Unfortunately I must have been up too early as they did not get the opportunity to trail break for me – maybe thats why they are smiling!

View over the flank of Spidean Coire nan Clach  towards the Ruadhs.
