Sunshine and showers

11th January 2022

After a mild and wet day yesterday the freezing level dropped to around 600 metres overnight and then gradually rose today. This has helped to further consolidate the snowpack. In places today the surface was firm and crampons were useful but in other locations it was soft making progress slow. New snow amounts from the occasional showers are negligible.

Photos below show remaining snow cover.
