This blog is intended to provide hazard and mountain condition information to help plan safer mountain trips.

It was a day of sunshine and showers, with these falling as snow above 400 metres. While it was quite pleasant in the sunshine it was full winter whiteout conditions in some of the showers.

A thin cover at 500 metres on Beinn Eighe. Thawing quite quickly here due to the warm, wet ground beneath and some solar radiation on this South aspect.

A very obvious colour difference between the old and new snow.

Beinn Eighe looking whiter today.
