Hill Fog

7th April 2019

Little to see today above 550m as thick cloud shrouded the hills. The snow conditions are largely unchanged from yesterday with very little snow existing below 650m in the continued mild weather and the diminishing snowpack is generally stable throughout. It felt cold in the fresh easterly wind,

Cloud base around 600m on Creag Dhubh at the east end of Beinn Eighe.

Lower cloud base on Liathach at around 500m.

A grey and snowless view looking down Glen Torridon from Coire an Laoigh on Beinn Eighe.

A ‘pea-souper’ in Coire an Laoigh at 700m. The rocks, gravel and sand in the foreground has been recently washed over the vegetation during a spell of heavy surface water drainage.
