Cold and clear at first.

18th March 2019

The day started quite perfectly with cold and clear conditions but by mid morning there were clouds on the tops reducing visibility. It was a fine enough day on the hill never the less.  The snow surface was quite hard at first and boots had to be kicked in to make progress on steeper ground but by lunch time the surface had softened a lot.

Indications of wind activity

Meal a’ Ghiubhais before the cloud came in.

Looking down towards Kinlochewe

Maybe not easy to see in this image but there was avalanche debris over by the shaded area triggered by a Cornice collapse.
