Showers from the East

30th March 2018

Wintry showers fed across the area from the East, with snow above 350m initially, higher as the day warmed. The heavier and more intense showers reached the coast, but those were isolated and very localised and he more inland mountains caught the majority. Brighter in the afternoon, with fewer showers and even some warm sun.

Snow showers breaking up over Beinn Dearg (Ullapool) and Beinn Enaiglair.

Similar view to the above photo later in the day as the showers eased. The new snow line is around 500 metres.

A clear spell over the Munros of Sgurr Breac (999m) and A’ Chailleach (997m) of the Fannaich mountains. Some localised accumulations of windslab developing on Western aspects at higher elevations in the fresh Easterly wind.

Cloud clinging to the tops of the main Fannaich mountains.
