Damp and Cloudy

3rd February 2018

Poor visibility today above 500 metres. The snowpack is thawing at lower to mid levels and quite wet underfoot. However, good snow cover remains at higher elevations.

As good as it got on the slopes of Fionn Bheinn, Achnasheen

A fresh to strong NNW wind persisted allowing rime to build into the wind. Striations in the snow also is a good indicator of wind direction.

Looking down onto Achnasheen. Cloud base around 500 metres, but it brightened up from the west later in the afternoon.
