Very Mild and Very Windy

23rd December 2017

A contrasting day with a bright morning deteriorating into an atrocious afternoon with persistent sometimes heavy rain. A temperature of 13C in the glen this morning and a gusty gale force South-Westerly with severe gales on the summits. Colder tomorrow and a dusting of fresh snow on the highest tops.

Angry looking early morning cloud over Sgurr Dubh and the south Torridon mountains. Spot the snow?

Patches of snow hanging in there in the upper Coire an Laoigh, Beinn Eighe.

Bare summit slopes on Sgurr nan Fhir Duibhe of Beinn Eighe. But some brightness towards the east. Spot the snow!

Not much snow left on the southerly aspects of Liathach.
