No Storm Dylan Here!

31st December 2017

A rather gloomy and benign end to the year in Torridon. However, look on the bright side; 2018 will start with a wintry mountain landscape.

Low cloud and rain in the glen first thing this morning coming in on light Easterlies. The lower slopes are thawing. Fresh snow lying above 600m from overnight.

Nice to have someone else to break trail into Coire an Laoigh, Beinn Eighe. A glimpse of brightness as the wind switched. Hard going through areas of soft deep snow. Easier walking once on the exposed scoured ridges and summits. Rime ice forming on the summit rocks

Looking South-East from Coire an Laoigh, Beinn Eighe. More rain, sleet and snow from the West as the wind suddenly backed Westerly.
