All underfoot conditions experienced today: wet and boggy at lower levels, breakable crust from the snow line to mid level and firm and icy above with rime ice and areas of moderately hard windslab. A beautiful and calm day with wonderful views. Good snow cover. Crampons were required today.

A whole slope of breakable crust! Blackened rocks and old sagging but refrozen cornices - indicative of a previous thaw.
Ice encrusted rocks with icicles and rime-ice.
