Visibility was good at times. Greatest accumulations of snow are on Easterly aspects above 700 metres. Slopes exposed to the very strong South Westerly winds overnight are scoured.

At lower levels much of the snow that fell on Christmas Eve has melted but cover continues to accumulate higher on the mountains.
